About Us

Formed in 1983 and specialising in the local authority, utility, hotel and retail, industrial and housing association markets for building, maintenance and decorating.

RWR grew quickly and in 1994 secured the BT measured term contract for building and civil engineering work for a five year extended period, upgrading all telephone exchanges in the Severnside area (Wiltshire, Gloucester and Avon) for digital connection.

In the late 1990’s a new division was formed to cover responsive repairs and maintenance, including out of hours cover with over a thousand orders a year being processed and successfully completed for individual housing associations and utilities.

At this time we successfully gained new clients within the NHS, various PCTs and Hospitals within Wiltshire, local authorities including Wiltshire County Council, Bath and North East Somerset Council, Cotswold Borough Council, West Oxfordshire, Oxford City Council and Swindon Borough Council. In addition we began to specialise work for mental health institutions such as New Era and Dimensions UK, covering the south of England.

Our move to Unit 2 Rivergate in 2005 gave us the space and facilities to take on much larger and more specialist work for schools and companies such as Intel and Thamesdown Transport. Larger contracts for refitting leisure centres such as The Oasis and The Link Centre in Swindon have proved very successful as well as swimming pools and conversion of redundant leisure facilities into specialist learning and training centres such as The Therapy Unit at Nyland School, Swindon converted from an old swimming pool.

Another new division was also formed to carry out replacement kitchen and bathrooms. This culminated with a two year contract for the replacement of 450 kitchens for the Guinness Trust within the Swindon and Wiltshire area. Specialist disabled adaptations where extensions and structural work would be required for automated lifting gear and wet rooms for the severely infirmed and disabled also became a mainstay of our work.

In 2009 we gained Gas Safe Accreditation and took on board Safewell Health & Safety Consultants as our advisor and independent site inspector for all aspects of health and safety and CDM coordination.

Moving forward RWR is looking to further promote customer satisfaction and improve on our already exemplary health and safety record. Key personnel have been recruited to cover customer and end user client relations to promote better awareness and harmony at all levels before and whilst the work is being carried out, particularly with residential customers. It is our aim to provide all customers with the benefit of our extensive knowledge and fault finding expertise, whether this be structural, mechanical or electrical, and cover areas from boiler installations, rising and penetrative damp to advice on arboriculture and grounds maintenance issues. Our emphasis is always on preventative rather reactive maintenance with property “MOTs” and stock condition surveys a speciality.
